Leslie Maxfield
As director of Caltech Academic Media Technologies, Leslie Maxfield (BS '95) creates award-winning videos that showcase Caltech's research, discoveries, and community; leads campus technology initiatives; and produces in-person, virtual, and hybrid events and lecture broadcasts. She brings expertise in educational technology design, implementation, and support for remote and on-campus instruction.
Leslie has been a speaker and panelist at TEDMED: 20 Great Challenges, Coursera and edX Massive Open Online Course conferences, Caltech's Mentoring Undergraduate Research conferences, and Caltech's Science of Cooking course.
In support of communities locally and globally, Leslie is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Pasadena, and since 2017, the content creator and technical director for the U.S. Department of State's International Women of Courage Celebration. She serves on the boards of Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program and the Caltech Y.
Leslie is passionate about the co-evolution of humans and technology and its impact on the future, especially in education. She is a graduate of Caltech and the University of California, Berkeley. You can often find her out watching rocket launches, performing in a Theater Arts at Caltech (TACIT) show, and walking her beagle on the beach.
